About us

Menken van den Assem fresh & frozen food is a privately owned family business, established in 1991 by Ton Menken and Frank van den Assem. Both, already had years of experience in the food business.

They started with Menken van den Assem frozen food; supplying high quality frozen food specialities and well-established (mostly foreign) brands to wholesalers in catering industries, business catering, hotels, airline catering and some other businesses in the food industry. During the years that followed, their product range expanded to a wide selection of frozen products mainly pasta and potato specialities.

Menken van den Assem fresh food was established in 2002. When travelling for the frozen food division the buying department discovered delicious local products, which were not known nor available yet on the Dutch market. Since these fresh and chilled products were only available in bulk packaging the idea arose to develop and pack the products with one’s own hands to supply Dutch food retail and industry. A diversified range of delicacies in retail packaging was created. At present Menken van den Assem fresh food develops its own range of chilled fresh meal components and cocktail bites. Food concepts are offered to the market mainly under private label. The company is also active in foreign markets.

Menken van den Assem fresh & frozen food is located at “Forepark” industrial park nearby The Hague in The Netherlands.
